Limbless Support N.I. was formed after a group of like minded amputees attended the Amputee Games at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium, through RDS and Mitre Trust.
By talking with other amputees we realised the need for amputees to get involved in physical, sporting and social activities.
Our aim is to encourage amputees and their families to take part in these activities in an informal social atmosphere.
We have fun times out during the year including: Ten Pin Bowling and Camping as well as trying out new sports such as Wheel Chair Basketball.
We run various fund raising events throughout the year which help support LSNI take part in the Amputee Games and other events.
To present day we have provided funding to young amputees to encourage and aid them in their sporting activities.
We meet every other month in a social atmosphere around a cup of tea in The Community Room at Tesco Newtownbreda, 170 Newtownbreda Road, Belfast, BT8 6PZ - just off the A55 Ring Road.
Next Meeting - Wednesday 23 October at 7.30pm
We invite speakers along to give talks and advise on topics relevant to our needs and situations.
